Scientists Set To Visit Deep Sea Volcanoes For First TIme
Given 462,000 pounds, a team of researchers are set to take the finest of UK's equipment including their newest boat, the RRS James Cook and the submarine Autosub6000 into the abyss.
In the last two underwater expeditions of unexplored abyss, we found those long red tubeworms in the Pacific and those red blind shrimp in the Atlantic-both sites we have now seen countless times on underwater movies.
This time, explorers are going to one of our favorite dive areas, the Caribbean and exploring the Cayman Trough-which happened to be where a connection from the Pacific to the Atlantic used to be before South America and North America were connected. Though the waters are in the Atlantic, they are visiting undersea volcanoes with thermal vents like those in the Pacific.
So, in other words, who knows what those researched are going to find, but I bet its going to be something we will be hearing about for a long time.
