Aerial Footage of Gray Whales Mating

Three gray whales were spotted mating off the coast of southern California, during their annual migration to the Bering Sea in Alaska. Whale watching cruise captain, Frank Brennan, noticed the whales several miles out in a foggy patch of sea and used a drone to record the footage.
The whales which were several miles out from Dana Point Headlands are more likely to be spotted mating earlier in the year throughout the various lagoons of Baja. Nevertheless, they have been known to mate on their way north as well.
The whale watching cruise was taking part in the Festival of Whales and was the last cruise after a whale lecture series spronsered by Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching.
